Owners of unauthorized villas in the Rezallë area along Lake Ujman have begun removing doors, windows and other belongings from the properties following warnings that the structures could be demolished.

Images from the area show that many of the villas have been left with little more than their walls as owners dismantle parts of the buildings and remove their belongings.

The move follows a warning from the public water management company “Ibër-Lepenci” that the unauthorized structures could be demolished with the assistance of inspectors from the Ministry of Environment.

Authorities said complaints have also been submitted by some users of the properties over the planned action.

However, “Ibër-Lepenci” said most owners had chosen to comply with institutional notices and remove their belongings from the buildings themselves rather than wait for demolition.

Footage by Kanal 10 showed the situation in the Rezallë area and the ongoing process of clearing the villas.

The developments come amid institutional efforts to address unauthorized construction along the Ujman Lake area, a strategically important water resource for Kosovo.
