A Russian strike hit Kyiv’s Northern Bridge (Pivnichnyi), causing damage to the road surface and overhead trolleybus lines, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

According to Klitschko, emergency services arrived at the scene, while traffic from the left bank to the right bank of the Dnipro River was temporarily blocked.

The strike on the Northern Bridge comes just days after the Southern Bridge (Pivdennyi) was also hit several times by Russian drones.

According to Kyiv authorities, both bridges connect the eastern and western parts of the capital and had not previously been targeted in this manner.

Klitschko said the intensification of Russian attacks is affecting critical infrastructure, logistics, and residential areas of Kyiv.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the Russian strikes are in response to Ukrainian attacks against energy facilities in Russia.
