Hashim Thaçi’s lawyer, Luka Mishetiq, has shared a video of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in which he stated that he had received information from a European and world leader that Thaçi would receive a severe sentence from the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
In a post on X, Mishetiq questioned how French President Emmanuel Macron could have known the outcome of the trial several days before it was announced and why he had discussed the matter with Vučić.
“Serbian President Vučić met with French President Macron on September 10 in Paris, where, according to Vučić in the video below, he was told by a ‘European and world leader’ [Macron] that Thaçi would receive ‘a severe sentence,’” Mishetiq wrote.
“How did Macron know the outcome of the trial at least six days earlier, and why did Macron speak with Vučić about this matter? These are questions that remain unanswered,” he added.
On September 16, the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague sentenced Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli, and Rexhep Selimi to a combined total of 81 years in prison on charges of war crimes.
