Kosovo Assembly Speaker Albulena Haxhiu met with Auditor General Vlora Spanca on Tuesday, congratulating her on her work and reappointment by the Assembly for a new five-year term.
Haxhiu emphasized the importance of reports issued by the National Audit Office, describing them as a key foundation for parliamentary oversight and institutional accountability.
In a statement following the meeting, Haxhiu said the Assembly’s 11th legislature would carefully review the audit reports and hold institutions accountable for implementing the recommendations.
“Public money belongs to citizens, who have the right to know how every euro collected through their taxes is spent,” Haxhiu said.
She stressed that accountability was not optional but an institutional obligation and a fundamental principle of the rule of law.
