Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has described the result achieved by Albanians in Serbia’s parliamentary elections as historic, highlighting that the Albanian Coalition secured 27,670 votes and two parliamentary seats.
Speaking at a meeting of the General Council of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Kurti said the achievement was the result of the unity of Albanian political entities, which, despite their differences, had placed common interests above party interests.
Commenting on political developments in Serbia, Prime Minister Kurti stressed that the October 25 elections had brought about a reconfiguration of the political landscape in the neighbouring country. Although it is now clear who has lost power in Serbia, he noted, it remains uncertain who will take over.
Kurti also outlined the conditions that must be met before the normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia can move forward.
He said that confronting the past, uncovering crimes committed against Albanians, identifying mass graves and clarifying the fate of missing persons remain essential obligations.
