Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca has provided details about the work of the strategic group established by Kosovo’s institutions to develop a state strategy concerning the appeal proceedings before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

Speaking at a press conference, Konjufca said the group has already been constituted, its working rules have been approved, and a working group has been established to collect and coordinate documents and proposals from the institutions involved.

“Last week, we established the strategic group responsible for the strategy that all state institutions of our Republic must implement in relation to the proceedings in The Hague. At the previous meeting, the group was formally constituted, we adopted the rules governing our work, and we established a working group that will bring together all our ideas in a single document. I have also divided these contributions according to the categories of institutions represented in the group,” Konjufca stated.

Explaining the group’s composition, the minister said the aim is to involve all state institutions and political representatives in the process.

“This includes the Government, which is represented through me, as well as Minister Hoti. We also have a representative of the President, a representative of the Assembly Presidency, representatives of the four parliamentary groups in the Kosovo Assembly, and a representative of the non-majority communities, excluding the Serb community,” he said.

Konjufca announced that the group’s next meeting will take place the day after tomorrow and is expected to last throughout the day. During the meeting, participants will examine the separate documents prepared by each institution and work towards consolidating them into a joint document.

“Our next meeting is scheduled for the day after tomorrow. It will be a longer meeting, lasting several hours and taking up the entire day. We will work throughout the day to synthesise all the documents submitted by the various institutions, as each of them has prepared its own document. The working group will then continue its work, with the aim of producing a comprehensive strategy,” the minister said, as reported by Klankosova.tv.

He stressed that the strategy will cover several dimensions and that the group’s proceedings will not be made public. According to him, access to the final document may also be restricted because of the nature of the objectives the group is seeking to achieve.

“The work of this group will be quite confidential. Its proceedings cannot be open to the public, and access to the final product of our work may also be somewhat restricted. I regret that this has to be the case, but it is due to the nature of the objectives this strategic group is pursuing. The goal is to win the case,” Konjufca said.
