The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has congratulated the United States of America in honor of marking the 248th anniversary of Independence.
“On June 24, 1826, Thomas Jefferson expressed a dying wish: that the Declaration of Independence would inspire the rest of the world to ‘break the chains’ and ‘receive the blessings and security of self-government.’ Jefferson passed away just ten days later, on July 4 – the 50th birthday of the very nation he helped found,” Kurti wrote in X.
“Nearly 200 years after Jefferson’s death, we are still working tirelessly to fulfill his last wish. From voting booths around the world, to the patriotic battlefields of brave Ukraine, let us all continue to do our part in this never-ending struggle to keep the Spirit of ’76 alive, for ourselves and for generations to come. . Happy Fourth of July!”.
