Today, the director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, Petrit Ajeti, reported to the Commission for the Supervision of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.

At this meeting, Ajeti was invited to report on the security situation in Kosovo after statements by state officials that the country could be attacked again by terrorist groups trained in Serbia.

After the meeting, the chairman of the Commission, Ganimete Musliu, said that the general security situation is stable and the situation in the municipalities in the north is stable, but added that there are ongoing efforts by Serbia to tense the situation.

Musliu said that the threat from Serbia and the paramilitary and terrorist organizations whose members are being sheltered and trained in Serbia is considered very high. She added that the data from the security institutions show that the terrorist group is conducting exercises in several locations in the vicinity of Novi Pazar, Kopaonik and Kralevc and that this paramilitary and terrorist group led by Radoicic continues to be structured, has sufficient means financial, weapons and support from official Belgrade on an ongoing basis and are discussing possibilities for attacks.

Musliu also mentioned the fact that the Serbian army has increased the presence of drone patrols in the border area with Kosovo.

“We can conclude after this meeting that the general security situation is stable. The situation in the four municipalities in the north is stable despite the continuous intervention of Serbia and continuous efforts to tense the situation. The threat from Serbia and the paramilitary and terrorist organizations whose members are being sheltered and trained in Serbia is assessed as very high. Based on intelligence data, the terrorist group has recently been conducting exercises in several locations in the vicinity of Novi Pazar, Kopaonik and Kralevci. The paramilitary terrorist group led by Radoicic continues to be structured, has sufficient financial means, weapons and support from official Belgrade, and is continuously discussing the possibilities of attacks. Radoicic continues close cooperation with the security structures of Serbia and high state officials and is in contact with several radical and criminal groups with regional scope. The Serbian army has increased the presence of patrols and drones in the border area with Kosovo.

These are indicators that Serbia continues to have aggressive intentions towards Kosovo with the aim of undermining Kosovo’s security through state and non-state mechanisms. “Hybrid attacks have recently increased,” said Musliu.

But she added that there is no place for panic as long as there are no direct threats and added that the state of Kosovo together with its allies is in a state of readiness.

“We must be clear. Each country has the right to maneuver in its territory, in this case also Serbia. As long as there are no real provocations and direct attacks, I can say that the state of Kosovo, together with its allies, is in a state of readiness and there is no place for panic,” said Musliu.
