Despite Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and the state demanding the extradition of the criminal Milan Radoičić from Serbia, the Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo has yet to file any indictments against him and the terrorist group that attacked Kosovo in September last year with the intention of annexing the northern part of the country.
Regarding this matter, analyst and local affairs expert Gani Qarri spoke to the newspaper “Bota sot.”
According to him, it is surprising that even after almost a year since the terrorist attack, the Prosecutor’s Office has not filed any charges against the terrorist Radoičić.
“In fact, following the Serbian terrorist aggression in Banjë of Zveçan on September 24, 2023, where the police sergeant, now a hero of Kosovo, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed by terrorists infiltrated from Serbia, it was claimed that local justice was conducting intensive investigations into this serious case. It was expected that charges against the persons involved in the attack would be completed at least within the first three months of 2024 and that an indictment would be filed against the former vice-president of the so-called ‘Serb List,’ chief terrorist Milan Radoičić. However, what was said at the time, despite the organization and execution of the terrorist attack by chief terrorist Milan Radoičić and other Serbian terrorists deep in Kosovo, has not materialized to date. There is even a possibility that, even after a year has passed, nothing significant will happen, or at least anything done will not be handled professionally and legally,” Qarri stated.
He suggests that the failure to file the indictment is due to the fear of the Chief Prosecutor of Kosovo’s Special Prosecution Office.
“Adding to this alarming fact is that the current Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution Office, who, even after withdrawing the first indictment against chief criminal Radoičić, has not provided any explanations on what grounds this dubious action was based on and with what reasoning he dared to withdraw the indictment against Radoičić. I fear that he personally does not have the courage, today or even after a year, to reissue a new indictment against Milan Radoičić, and this task has been left in the hands of the wrong person by the state!”
“Although experts of the justice system in the country express that the case of Banjë is among the ‘most complex’ and requires time and care to be reviewed, I believe and would say with full conviction that, besides time and care for review, above all, the state urgently needs an uncoerced prosecutor, sworn to justice, professionally proven, and courageous in actions, especially successful in performing his duties, to seriously address the case, complete the investigations, and file an indictment against chief terrorist Milan Radoičić and other participants in the Serbian terrorist attack in Banjë of Zveçan,” Qarri explained.
“Otherwise, those prosecutors or chief prosecutors who perhaps have confused murder cases and suicides, and for more than 25 years were unable to resolve any post-war murder cases, not even of the political activists of their own party, but would hastily and arbitrarily withdraw the indictment against the chief criminal of the north, Milan Radoičić, without providing any explanation to the state and the citizens of Kosovo, all these have a terrifying significance, which is not so complex and difficult to decipher,” added analyst Gani Qarri.
But what is the reason why the Special Prosecutor’s Office is not filing an indictment for the terrorist attack in northern Kosovo according to Qarri?
“Considering that the ‘Kosovo Prosecutorial Council’ attempted and reattempted several times to impose the same person on us as ‘Chief Prosecutor’ of the state, the very person who had withdrawn the arrest warrant against chief criminal Milan Radoičić, this affair must have had a strong reason. It is time for it to be finally explained to the citizens why individuals such as these, despite the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kosovo being questioned for two consecutive days just for pointing out on social media that the escape from prison of certain individuals sought by responsible institutions in the Republic of Kosovo is happening solely in one direction, towards the territory of Serbia, are perhaps not in a position, now or soon, to reissue a proper indictment against chief terrorist Milan Radoičić, a case for which they must one day face the bench of the accused!” Qarri emphasized.
In conclusion, Qarri casts doubts that prosecutors in Kosovo are being blackmailed, which is why there are no concrete actions.
“The relevant institutions should honestly explain to all citizens that besides expecting long delays, they might also end up deeply disappointed, not only them but also the state of Kosovo. This is best evidenced by the fact that even after 10 months, there is still no indictment filed against chief terrorist Milan Radoičić or other Serbian terrorists, without any explanation from the ‘Special Prosecution’ or the ‘Prosecutorial Council’ of Kosovo. Whether it is indeed a matter of their blackmailing by Serbia, or why this is happening and who is hindering the filing of the indictment against chief terrorist Milan Radoičić and other actors of the Serbian terrorist attack within Kosovo’s territory after 10 months, may never be fully clarified without the implementation of VETTING!” concluded analyst Gani Qarri.
