American Congressman Ritchie Torres has responded to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s recent speech, in which Vucic outlined several demands regarding Kosovo.
In a post on the platform “X” (formerly Twitter), Torres reaffirmed his support for Kosovo, emphasizing that Vucic’s “on the wrong side of history.”
Torres criticized Vučić’s demands for Kosovo, which include returning to a status where Kosovo would relinquish its sovereignty.
According to Torres, such a reversal will never happen, as Kosovo is and will remain an independent state, with the strong support of the United States.
“Serbia is asking Kosovo to surrender its sovereignty and return to the ‘status quo ante.’ There will be no such reversal. Kosovo is an independent country and will remain so forever, supported by its greatest ally: the United States of America. History is on the side of Kosovo’s independence. Aleksandar Vučić is on the wrong side of history,” Torres added on X.
