Prime Minister Albin Kurti discussed his morning visit to Leposaviq during today’s government meeting, where he was accompanied by Health Minister Arben Vitia.

“We just returned from Leposaviq with Health Minister Arben Vitia, as a mammography unit will be present in Leposaviq for two days to provide screenings for women and raise awareness about breast cancer.”

He mentioned that this mammography initiative will travel to every municipality in the country.

“This month is a call to raise awareness about breast cancer. Mammography will continue for Viti, and it has also been available previously in North Mitrovica.”

Kurti added that they visited a facility that could be transformed into a maternity ward for women from Leposaviq.

“Together with Minister Vitia, we also closely examined a building to assess the possibility of converting it into a maternity ward to meet the needs of women from Leposaviq, so they won’t have to cross borders and travel dozens of kilometers to Novi Pazar, where they then register their babies as residents of Serbia.”

He noted that the municipality was represented by Mayor Lulzim Hetemi, Deputy Mayor Marina Bogojonoviq, and Health Director Marina Zdravkoviq.
