SpaceX successfully launched its massive “Starship” rocket on Sunday in what is considered its most ambitious test flight to date.

Ascending to a height of nearly 121 meters, the empty “Starship” lifted off at sunrise from the southern tip of Texas near the Mexico border, according to AP reports.

The rocket flew over the Gulf of Mexico, similar to four previous rockets of its kind, all of which ultimately faced destruction or plunged into the sea shortly after launch.

The last flight in June was the most successful to date, managing to complete its flight without exploding.

SpaceX aims to utilize Starship for transporting humans and supplies to the Moon and eventually to Mars.
