On the sidelines of the Berlin Process Summit, Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani.

In a press release, Kurti thanked Minister Tajani and the Italian government for their ongoing support and cooperation, emphasizing Italy’s key role within the EU and NATO as a major ally for the Western Balkans.

Kurti also highlighted the need to lift the European Union’s measures against Kosovo, noting that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, has acknowledged that the conditions for removing these measures have been met.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and opportunities to enhance economic and trade cooperation, including organizing a business forum to promote greater interaction between companies from both countries.

Kurti reiterated Kosovo’s commitment to EU membership and emphasized the importance of granting Kosovo candidate status, as nearly two years have passed since the country applied. He expressed gratitude to Minister Tajani for Italy’s continued support in this endeavor.
