German Ambassador to Pristina, Jorn Rohde, has commented on statements made by German envoy Manuel Sarrazin regarding the visa waiver for Kosovo citizens and the blockade imposed by Milorad Dodik. Rohde noted that Sarrazin praised Kosovo’s decision to allow visa-free travel for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, describing it as a positive step in the spirit of the Berlin Process. He also criticized Dodik’s obstruction, which has prevented Bosnia from deciding to lift visa restrictions for Kosovars.
According to Rohde, such a stance reflects a disregard for the freedom of movement of his people and neglects progress.

The German envoy for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, stated at a press conference following the Berlin Process Summit that Kosovo’s decision to lift visa requirements for Bosnian citizens is a positive move and embodies the true spirit of the Berlin Process.
Sarrazin emphasized that Germany has been urging Dodik since 2022 to remove the national veto that is blocking decision-making regarding allowing Kosovars to travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina with just an ID card. He made it clear that this is crucial and emphasized that there would be no “candy” for Dodik in exchange for lifting the veto.
