Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with U.S. President Joe Biden and thanked him for the involvement of the United States in reaching the ceasefire agreement.
Israel’s Security Cabinet announced that it had approved the Lebanese proposal, supported by the U.S., for a ceasefire, according to the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.
“The Security Cabinet approved tonight the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, with a majority of 10 ministers in favor and one opposed,” the statement said.
“Israel appreciates the United States’ contribution to the process and reserves the right to act against any threat to its security,” the statement added.
