The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, has reacted following the recent appointment of Aleksandar Kuzmanović as the head of the Administrative Court in Presheve by the High Judicial Council of Serbia.
According to Bislimi, this decision deepens the marginalization of Albanian professionals, reinforcing inequality in decision-making institutions in the Presheva Valley.
“Three Albanian deputy prosecutors in retirement have been replaced by Serbs. In the Pčinja district, Albanians occupy only 12% of judicial positions and represent just 2.7% of judges, despite making up 30% of the population. In 2011, the Basic Court (Municipal Court) in Preševo was also dissolved.”
“The acting director of the Health Center in Presheva has been a Serbian doctor for 2 years, while Serbs make up only 3% of the population in this area. Serbia’s commitment to the rights of minorities is nonexistent,” wrote Bislimi.
He further stated that it is urgent for the European Union to react and stop this aggressive discrimination against Albanians in the Presheva Valley.
