The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has called on Bosnia and Herzegovina to follow Kosovo’s lead in respecting the agreement for free movement under the Berlin Process, to ensure that citizens of both countries can travel only with identity cards, without the need for visas, reports RKS NEWS.

Kurti stated that Kosovo has decided to unilaterally implement the agreement by allowing citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to enter Kosovo without visas starting January 1, 2025, and called for Bosnia to do the same.

“Yesterday, the government decided to unilaterally implement the Berlin Process Agreement for Freedom of Movement with ID cards, starting from January 1, 2025, which will enable visa-free travel to Kosovo for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe this will strengthen the relations between our two countries. As I mentioned in Sarajevo last week, our friendship has long been hindered by restrictions on freedom of movement. We urge Bosnia and Herzegovina to act swiftly in ratifying the Agreement on their side, ensuring reciprocal benefits for both our citizens,” Kurti wrote.
