The U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, has praised Kosovo’s authorities for extraditing a Kosovar suspected of committing a murder in the Bronx 18 years ago. The extradition took place last week, using the U.S.-Kosovo Extradition Treaty.
“We greatly appreciate the cooperation of Kosovo authorities for assisting the U.S. Government with this case. Our shared commitment to strengthening the rule of law continues to make our countries safer,” Hovenier stated on the social media platform X.
The individual in question, A.G. from Peja, is accused of a 2006 murder in the Bronx. He allegedly struck a crowd with his car following a dispute in a bar, resulting in the death of an innocent passerby. The 42-year-old was extradited on December 13 and is expected to appear in court in the U.S. on January 16.
