Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has raised concerns regarding the upcoming Kosovo elections set for February 9, claiming that the outgoing Biden Administration is putting significant pressure on the European Union to lift sanctions against Kosovo.
In a media conference, Vučić accused the Biden Administration of seeking to enable Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti to achieve another victory, which he claims would further undermine the survival of Serbs in Kosovo.
According to Vučić, the United States is advocating for Kurti’s success, continuing policies that he argues jeopardize the well-being of Serbs in Kosovo.
“This is why I will be in Brussels tomorrow. I believe it will be important for me to show the people in Europe exactly what is happening in Kosovo, even though they are already aware of it,” Vučić stated, as reported by KO.
His remarks suggest that Serbia intends to present its stance and concerns regarding Kosovo’s political landscape to European officials, particularly in light of ongoing tensions and the pressure from international actors.
