Albania has officially signed a Security and Defense Partnership Agreement with the European Union today, marking a significant step in strengthening its cooperation with the EU in the areas of security and defense.
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating that it will enhance Albania’s capabilities in combating hybrid and cyber threats, as well as extremism. He highlighted that the agreement will contribute to a safer and more resilient Europe.
“This strategic partnership will reinforce our efforts to combat hybrid and cyber threats, extremism, and will further increase our security and defense capabilities, contributing to a safer and more stable Europe,” Hasani stated on social media.
Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, described the agreement as a significant boost to Albania’s interaction in the fields of security and defense within the context of its irreversible EU integration path.
“With this agreement, we will now have more European tools and opportunities to strengthen the Armed Forces of Albania. I am confident that we will do our best and add value to the European Union’s operational commitments,” Vengu expressed on social media.
This agreement solidifies Albania’s commitment to deepening its collaboration with the EU in defense and security, further advancing its European integration process.
