Elisa Spiropali, the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament: Albania Stands Firm in Support of Kosovo’s Efforts to Ensure Rule of Law. She reiterated Albania’s strong and unwavering support for Kosovo during her speech at the Assembly of Kosovo. She emphasized the importance of the bilateral relationship between the two countries, stating that their successes are inseparable.
Addressing Kosovo’s ongoing progress, Spiropali called for the five remaining states that have yet to recognize Kosovo’s independence to do so, stressing the shared aspirations and common goals between Albania and Kosovo.
“We share ideas, common passions, dreams, goods, visions, and hopes, and we coordinate well-understood plans and strategies on our journey towards Europe. Our objective is clear: full European Union membership, Kosovo’s ultimate recognition as an irreversible reality, the enhancement of the Albanian factor’s role, and the stability necessary for peace and security,” Spiropali said.
She highlighted that Kosovo’s success is directly tied to Albania’s success and vice versa. “Kosovo is a national priority for Albania, and Albania is a national priority for Kosovo. The success of one is a prerequisite for the success of the other,” Spiropali affirmed.
Despite daily debates and challenges, Spiropali underscored that the partnership between the two countries remains the only effective tool for overcoming the geopolitical challenges they face. “We believe that only a full partnership, beyond the daily debates and disagreements, is the most reasonable approach for both Tirana and Pristina to tackle the challenges in a sometimes hostile geopolitical environment,” she added.
In her address, Spiropali also reiterated Albania’s strong backing of Kosovo’s government efforts to strengthen the rule of law throughout the country. “We support Kosovo’s multifaceted efforts, the state of Kosovo, and the forces in Kosovo, to guarantee the rule of law in every corner of the Republic of Kosovo, in close partnership with our international allies,” she concluded.
The statement reflects Albania’s continuous commitment to Kosovo’s sovereignty, stability, and European integration, signaling a unified front in their shared aspirations for regional and European progress.
