President Vjosa Osmani participated in the solemn reception for Christmas.
In her speech to those present, while wishing all Christian believers a Merry Christmas, the Head of State reminded everyone of the true spirit of Christmas: the suffering of Christ for humanity, his sacrifice and resurrection, and the example of goodness set by our own Mother Teresa.
“Let us remember our values, which are so well and deeply embodied by our Gonxha, Saint Teresa! She sacrificed herself for humanity, for the poorest of the poor, and from their suffering, she created the image of the resurrection of hope, love for humanity, and selfless help for them.”
“Today, following her example, we not only wish each other a Merry Christmas, but we also deeply reflect on what makes this holiday so special. Beyond the sparkling lights that symbolize hope, we reflect on our generosity and unity,” Osmani expressed, as reported by Klankosova.tv.
She stated that Christmas is an inspiration that reminds us all that, despite challenges, hope must triumph.
“It reminds us that we must value the people in our lives, express our gratitude to the family who loves us unconditionally, to the friends who stand by us, and to our fellow citizens, bound by blood, language, and hope.”
“The magic of Christmas makes us turn our attention tonight to those who are close to us and to those far away in service. Above all, to those who today need our care the most.”
“Therefore, following the example of our Gonxha, let us take care tonight and in all the days to come of those who are waiting for our help and need our attention,” declared President Vjosa Osmani, adding, “Christmas is a moment to show kindness and care for them, by giving them a warm smile, a gesture of love, and lighting up their world.”
She recalled the saying, “It is more blessed to give than to receive. Giving, after all, spreads the joy of Christmas far and wide.”
Christmas, the President expressed, “reminds us that light always finds its way through darkness and that love has the power to transform even the hardest hearts. So, while we celebrate, let us embrace the true meaning of Christmas.”
She ended her message with a final note: “Let us laugh, celebrate, and create memories that will last a lifetime! Let us remember those who cannot be with us and keep them close in our hearts! Let us also remember, as I said, those who are in greatest need and, most importantly, let us carry the spirit of Christmas with us long after the decorations are gone.”
