Outgoing U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier met with Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti on Thursday to discuss the country’s progress and its aspirations for integration into international frameworks.
Hovenier shared on the social platform X that the discussions focused on Kosovo’s achievements during his tenure and the collaboration between the two nations. He emphasized that this partnership enhances the United States’ ability to advocate for Kosovo’s rightful place in European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
“Today, I had a farewell meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti. We discussed Kosovo’s progress during my tenure and the close cooperation that enables the United States to more effectively advocate for Kosovo to take its rightful place in European and Euro-Atlantic structures,” Hovenier stated.
Earlier this week, Kurti highlighted that during Hovenier’s mandate, the collaboration between Kosovo and the U.S. strengthened in areas of defense, security, and intelligence.
The meeting underscores the continued support of the United States in advancing Kosovo’s international aspirations and fostering bilateral relations.
