Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, announced the resolution of the Kosovo Security Force’s (KSF) food service challenges with the recruitment of a new team of professional chefs and technical staff. The transition, which began on December 16, successfully concludes a temporary arrangement where food was prepared by the Kosovo Correctional Service and the Student Center.
Minister Maqedonci expressed gratitude to those who volunteered to ensure uninterrupted food service for KSF members during this period.
“While various theories and harmful disinformation were being circulated, the Kosovo Correctional Service and Student Center stepped in voluntarily, ensuring there was no interruption in food services for our army. Their patriotic spirit and dedication from October to December 16, 2024, were invaluable,” Maqedonci stated.
He also shared his appreciation for the directors and 25 volunteers from these institutions who supported the transitional phase, marking the shift to a new era of self-reliant food preparation within KSF barracks.
The minister emphasized that building self-reliance in resource management is a critical component of national security.
“Pen, rifle, and bread are the cornerstones of a state in any society, maintaining the balance of a professional army. The Ministry of Defense had a clear vision that the end of 2024 would mark the beginning of a new phase, enhancing our own professional human resources for food preparation in KSF barracks,” Maqedonci concluded.
