The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, began today’s Government meeting by addressing the issue of electricity supply in several regions of Kosovo, according to RKS NEWS.
Kurti stated that concerns about the situation had been communicated to the operators KOSTT and KEDS, urging them to dedicate more efforts on the ground to address power outages and to maintain clear and frequent communication with citizens.
He emphasized that the government had also requested the urgent completion of works at the new Ferizaj substation, as this would resolve the electricity issues for the city and surrounding areas.
“We have conveyed these concerns to the network operators, KOSTT and KEDS, and asked them for maximum engagement in several areas. This includes a focus on repairing outages, clear and frequent communication with citizens, and urgently completing the work at the new Ferizaj substation, which will solve the issue for this city and other surrounding areas,” Kurti said, as reported by Express.
Kurti also urged citizens to rationalize their electricity consumption, especially between 6 PM and midnight.
“We ask citizens to rationalize their electricity consumption, particularly from 6 PM to midnight, in the interest of ensuring a stable supply for both themselves and our country,” Kurti concluded.
