Lumturije Vuçetaj has received seven votes to be appointed as the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, for a four-year term.
Vuçetaj’s appointment as Chief Prosecutor was made during the 260th meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, reports “Betimi për Drejtësi.” “It is confirmed that with 7 votes in favor, Lumturije Vuçetaj is appointed as the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja for a four-year term, with the possibility of reappointment for another term,” stated Ardian Hajdaraj, the Chairperson of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
The Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD) has published a report highlighting that the process for selecting chief prosecutors was mostly merit-based and transparent, with more pronounced issues in the selection of the Chief Prosecutor of the Appeals Court.
