Residents affected by the firework explosion at a sales point in the “Bazhdarhane” neighborhood of Prizren will be compensated for their damages.
The Mayor of Prizren, Shaqir Totaj, announced that the Damage Assessment Commission has informed residents that they have seven days to file claims for the damages incurred.
“The Commission for Assessing the Damages Caused by the Incident with Fireworks in the ‘Bazhdarhane’ neighborhood visited the site today to inform affected residents that, within the legal seven-day period, they must submit claims to the Directorate of Emergencies and Security for the damages sustained,” Totaj wrote on Facebook.
One individual sustained severe injuries from the fire on January 1 and is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK). Medical officials have reported that his condition remains critical.
The fire also caused significant material damage to nearby apartments, businesses, and vehicles.
