A $25,000 fund for Greece aimed at “supporting” LGBTQI migrants and shaping public opinion was the latest revelation from the U.S. government’s efficiency department, led by Elon Musk.
The billionaire owner of Tesla and X has vowed to reveal exactly where and for what purposes taxpayer money is being spent and has continuously denounced that most of it will support the woke agenda worldwide.
According to an announcement from the ministry, the program, which was expectedly announced as being canceled, was titled: “Empowering LGBTQIA+ Refugees in Greece” and aimed at “providing material, legal, and psychological support for LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers and refugees, as well as informing and raising awareness in civil society about the issues facing the LGBTQIA+ community.”
It all started when European Parliament member of the Hellenic Solution, Manolis Frangos, sent an official letter to the specific U.S. ministry requesting information about USAID programs directed toward Greece.
It is recalled that USAID was the first “target” of the DOGE ministry, as it is believed to have become a mechanism for redistributing U.S. taxpayer funds to “progressive organizations” abroad to strengthen the woke agenda. This issue was also raised by former U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that Musk would uncover hundreds of millions of dollars in waste, and it turns out he was right.
As a result, the response from the ministry and Elon Musk came the following day.
Elon Musk himself, in a post on his private X account alongside a photo of the Greek flag next to an LGBTQI flag, commented, “There are many such cases.” In fact, in the post Musk quoted from the user “Libs of TikTok,” the question was raised, “Why are we funding such garbage?” Musk’s response went viral, and the issue of funding “LGBTQ refugees” appeared in mainstream U.S. news outlets like Fox News.
It is still unclear which organization in Greece would have received the 25,000 euros, but in similar cases abroad, it is usually Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that deal with these kinds of issues. In Greece, where since 2016, a large number of NGOs dealing with migration issues have mushroomed, there are also several focusing on LGBTQI migrant issues.
