On the 27th anniversary of the UÇK Epopee, Lumir Abdixhiku, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), honored the supreme sacrifice of the Jashari family and all those who fell for Kosovo’s freedom.
🔹 He recalled March 5, 1998, when Serbian police forces surrounded the Jashari family, yet their resistance became a symbol of Kosovo’s unbreakable will for liberation.
🔹 “Their sacrifice is the very foundation of Kosovo’s freedom,” Abdixhiku stated, emphasizing that the Jashari family’s legacy is eternal and unparalleled.
🔹 He stressed that commemorating the Epopee of the UÇK means honoring the very roots of Kosovo’s statehood and its people’s fight for independence.
Abdixhiku concluded by remembering the 56 fallen members of the Jashari family, whose heroic stand became a rallying call for Kosovo’s struggle. He paid tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives for Kosovo’s freedom, vowing that their legacy will live on forever.
