Russia has reacted harshly to the massive drone attack carried out by Ukraine in the Moscow region. The Kremlin considered this attack a warning to the West and accused the Kiev regime of escalating tensions.
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that this attack is a consequence of the West’s support for Ukraine. She stated that the West is responsible for creating a “monster” that is now posing a global risk.
“The massive drone attack by Ukraine on Russia should serve as a warning to the West about the ‘madness’ of the Kiev regime,” said Zakharova.
“Today, the West must face the madness of the monster they created, fed, equipped, and financed without control.”
The attack targeted Moscow and its region, causing at least three deaths and damaging residential buildings and other infrastructure. Dozens of people are reported to have been injured, primarily in the town of Vidnoe and the village of Yam, near Domodedovo, according to the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that 337 drones sent by Ukraine were downed, but there is still no exact data on the number of drones involved in the attack, which is considered one of the largest on Russian territory in recent weeks.
This attack occurred at a sensitive diplomatic moment, while high-ranking American and Ukrainian officials are preparing for a meeting in Saudi Arabia to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine.
In recent weeks, Russia has intensified attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian objects, increasing pressure on Ukrainian authorities and escalating diplomatic tensions.
The attack also impacted air traffic, with Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency announcing a temporary suspension of operations at Zhukovsky and Domodedovo airports. Vnukovo Airport also halted the acceptance of incoming flights.
In this tense situation, Russian authorities continue to assess the damage from the attacks and monitor the possibility of other potential threats.
