A newly released U.S. intelligence report highlights China as the greatest military and cyber threat to the United States, detailing Beijing’s advancements in military capabilities that could enable an invasion of Taiwan.

The annual threat assessment, reported by Reuters, states that China now has the ability to strike the U.S. with conventional weapons, disrupt American infrastructure through cyberattacks, and target assets in space. Additionally, China has set a goal to surpass the U.S. in artificial intelligence dominance by 2030.

The report also warns that Russia, Iran, and North Korea are working alongside China to challenge U.S. influence through coordinated disinformation campaigns and technological competition. Moscow’s war in Ukraine has provided key insights into countering Western weapons and intelligence strategies, the report notes.

Ahead of Senate Intelligence Committee hearings, the report highlights China’s military plans to use AI-driven misinformation, deepfake technology, and network attacks as part of its future warfare strategy.
