KFOR strengthens military presence with troops from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania
Around 270 new NATO troops have been deployed to Kosovo to support the KFOR mission, the KFOR Media Office announced on Tuesday.
The troops come from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania as part of the Multinational Operational Reserve Force (ORF) Battalion, which has replaced the previous Turkish Battalion in accordance with the scheduled rotation overseen by NATO’s Joint Forces Command in Naples.
These new forces will operate temporarily in Kosovo alongside 200 Italian reserve troops from the “Sassari” Brigade, who are already stationed in the region.
“These reinforcements – together with KFOR troops – enhance KFOR’s ability to respond to any developments in the security situation,” the statement said.
