Road improvement works have begun on the route leading to the village of Kalludër in Zubin Potok, where a suspected mass grave was recently discovered and where teams from the Institute of Forensic Medicine, together with other relevant institutions, continue excavation efforts.

Kalludër is located in a remote mountainous area with difficult terrain, posing significant logistical challenges for the forensic teams working at the site.

The road upgrades are expected to improve access for heavy machinery, forensic experts, and investigative personnel involved in the search, excavation, and recovery operations.

Authorities have stated that work at the site will continue until all necessary forensic examinations have been completed. The location is considered of particular importance in efforts to establish the fate of people who went missing during the 1998–1999 Kosovo war.

The ongoing excavations form part of Kosovo’s broader efforts to locate missing persons, identify human remains through forensic and DNA analysis, and provide long-awaited answers to the families of those who disappeared during the conflict.
