Four Serbian nationals, arrested by the Kosovo Police and posing as “pilgrims,” entered the territory of Kosovo after the elections of February 9th.
It is reported that they aimed at espionage and creating instability.
According to the Government, one of the arrested individuals was a police lieutenant from Serbia, while another was a captain in the Serbian army.
Tevë1 has obtained the names and documents of the four arrested individuals, as well as the police ID card of one of the arrested Serbian officers.
The arrested individuals are: Branko Rakic, residing in North Mitrovica, Nemanja Vamokiç, a police lieutenant residing in Novi Sad, Pavle Kragoviç, residing in Belgrade, and Millovan Steviq, a captain and agent of the Serbian army residing in North Mitrovica.
The Government of Kosovo in office also announced their arrest after the meeting of the Kosovo Security Council.
It is stated that the arrest of these “pilgrims” and the attacks in the north require an increase in vigilance from the institutions.
“On April 1st, after midnight, the office of Kosovo Post in Zveçan was attacked with two hand grenades, one of which exploded. The Post Office in Zveçan has been fully repaired, and public services are now operating normally there. When we add to this the recent arrest of four Serbian ‘pilgrims’ in Gjakova—one of whom was a police lieutenant from Serbia and the other a captain in the Serbian army, and everything that was confiscated from them—it is necessary that all state institutions and mechanisms remain vigilant and prepared,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police announced that two knives and an axe were found and seized from the arrested individuals.
By the prosecutor’s decision, the arrested individuals have been placed under detention.
