The President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, has shared a photo of his meeting with Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, expressing enthusiasm about the growing relationship between the two nations.
“I was thrilled to meet with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, @VjosaOsmaniPRKS, in Antalya during the Antalya Diplomatic Forum,” Bio wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
He emphasized their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and working together on a variety of initiatives:
“We agreed to strengthen the bilateral ties between Sierra Leone and Kosovo, committing to collaborate on various initiatives that will benefit both countries.”
This public statement and the shared photo come at a significant diplomatic moment, directly contradicting Serbia’s past claims that Sierra Leone had withdrawn its recognition of Kosovo’s independence. Instead, the high-level meeting and positive tone reaffirm Sierra Leone’s commitment to cooperation with Kosovo on the international stage.
