Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani emphasizes that the country’s future should be the main topic of discussion as she nears the end of her mandate.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani recently gave an interview to RTK, just days after Sudan officially recognized the Republic of Kosovo. During the interview, she was asked about her own future, as her term as president is set to end next year.

In response, Osmani stated that “no one should worry” about her personal future, stressing that the focus should instead be on the future of Kosovo.

“What needs to be discussed is the future of Kosovo, not the future of individuals. I have always worked—and continue to work—toward a bright, positive future for Kosovo and its citizens,” Osmani said.

She added that there is no need for concern regarding her individual path, assuring that she will continue contributing positively to the country for a long time.

Full response:
RTK: Madam President, one more question: what does your future look like, considering you have one year left in your mandate?

Osmani: What should be discussed is the future of Kosovo, not that of individuals. I have always worked—and I continue to work—to ensure that Kosovo’s future is bright, positive, and good for all its citizens. No one should worry about my individual future. I will continue to contribute positively to my country for a long time, and that is what matters.
