U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s special envoy, will travel to Paris this week to discuss with European allies the U.S. efforts to negotiate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, according to AP.
The U.S. Department of State (DOS) stated that Rubio and Witkoff will hold meetings in the French capital.
“The officials will hold discussions with their European counterparts to advance President Trump’s goal — to end the Russia-Ukraine war and stop the bloodshed,” said Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce in a statement today.
“Rubio will also discuss ways to advance shared interests in the region,” she added.
