The Islamic Community of Kosovo has described the late Pope as a powerful voice of dialogue and wisdom throughout his mission. In a public statement, BIK expressed its condolences for his passing.

“With sorrow, I received the news of the passing of the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis. With extraordinary dedication, he served peace, humanity, human dignity, and interfaith coexistence throughout the world.

On behalf of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, its institutions, and in my personal name, I express the sincerest condolences to the State of the Vatican – the central seat of the Catholic Church – to the Catholic Church in our country, and to all Catholic believers.

Pope Francis was a strong voice for dialogue and wisdom throughout his mission. He was deeply committed to building bridges of understanding between religions and peoples. He worked tirelessly to promote peace and religious values, leaving behind a precious legacy for future generations.

I remember with honor and respect the meeting I had with Pope Francis in November 2014 – a meeting that took place in an atmosphere of sincere understanding and was marked by profound messages of tolerance, dialogue, and interfaith harmony. That meeting remains a special memory and a motivation to continue the path of cooperation and shared values.”

– said in the message by Naim Tërnava, head of the Islamic Community of Kosovo.
