Faton Peci, a deputy from the ranks of the Self-Determination Movement (LVV), stated that Albulena Haxhiu will once again be the party’s candidate for Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly.

Before the 11th attempt to convene the Kosovo Assembly, Peci responded to accusations made by Paris Guri, a deputy from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), who claimed that Peci should be in jail, not in the Assembly, stating “Faton Peci should not come to Parliament at 10:00, he should go to prison.”

Regarding accusations against his tenure as Minister of Agriculture, Peci mentioned that he has already submitted material evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office regarding defamation and false accusations against him. He assured that he is at the disposal of the justice institutions 24/7 to refute the claims.

Today marks the 11th attempt to form the ninth legislature of the Kosovo Assembly. LVV, the winning party in the February 9th elections, is pushing for a secret ballot to elect the Speaker. However, the opposition parties have not supported this method of voting. LVV has proposed Albulena Haxhiu for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
