The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has reacted to the letter sent by Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti to the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, calling for a governing coalition.
Haradinaj stated that:
“That letter should have been sent immediately after the elections.”
He believes the letter does not change the current political deadlock, but it would show Kurti’s willingness to move forward if he offered a new candidate who could be accepted by LDK, PDK, or even AAK.
“If Kurti truly wants to move forward, he should propose a unifying candidate”
that could resolve the deadlock in the Assembly.
Haradinaj stressed that post-election consultations are a standard democratic practice:
“The winner of the elections is expected to hold consultations with other parties,”
he said, noting that both government and opposition consultations are essential.
He emphasized the urgency of the situation in Kosovo, reminding the public that other pressing national issues are being neglected due to this impasse.
“This is a heavy situation in Kosovo. We’re starting to forget the other important topics.”
