The Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, announced today that his party has submitted a case to the Constitutional Court regarding the secret ballot procedure for electing the Speaker of the Assembly, Reporteri.net reports.
Haradinaj accused political forces of playing games with the formation of the Assembly, calling the situation shameful not only for MPs but also for Kosovo as a state.
“The repeated sessions every 48 hours, without a single decision, have become a model of our institutional immaturity,” he wrote.
Haradinaj emphasized that the ongoing parliamentary blockade is causing not only political harm but also serious economic consequences, arguing that the only path forward lies through the Constitutional Court.
“Changing the method of voting mid-process under Vetëvendosje’s dictate is a grave constitutional violation. With no other way out, our Parliamentary Group — supported by MPs from LDK and PDK — has turned to the Court to clarify the constitutional breaches and guide us toward a resolution.”
He added that the party has also requested a temporary measure to suspend these “ridiculous sessions”, as he called them.
