U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in Riyadh, marking the first stop on his official overseas tour. Trump was greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, signaling the continuation of strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Later on Tuesday, President Trump will participate in a formal arrival ceremony, alongside the Crown Prince, which will include delegation introductions, a lunch with executives, bilateral meetings, and a Royal Court agreement signing. These events are expected to lay the groundwork for future cooperation on several fronts.
As part of his Middle East visit, Trump’s final stop will be in the United Arab Emirates, where significant financial agreements are anticipated. The UAE has pledged to invest $1.4 trillion in U.S. ventures over the next decade.
In preparation for the visit, the U.S. Department of State approved a $1.4 billion arms sale to the UAE, which includes $1.3 billion for Chinook helicopters and $130 million for F-16 fighter jet parts and support. This announcement came just days before Trump’s arrival, highlighting the strong military and economic ties between the two nations.
The visit to the UAE is expected to result in a series of financial agreements, focusing on artificial intelligence, semiconductors, manufacturing, and energy investments.
