The 15th constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo has once again failed to achieve the anticipated results. Deputies were unable to gather and pass the necessary procedures to form the new legislature, after the session was interrupted due to the failure to vote for the election commission. Only 56 deputies voted in favor, which was not enough to move the process forward. Even though there were 115 members present.
Several critical issues remain unresolved, including the formation of parliamentary commissions, and some deputies have called for further discussions to find a solution to break the current political deadlock, that has followed the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu for a consultative meeting with the presidents of the political parties such as LVV, PDK, LDK and AAK, on Thursday at 15:00. This ongoing delay is creating uncertainty regarding the formation of the government and could affect the political stability of Kosovo.
Political party leaders have been encouraged to continue negotiations and explore possible avenues to advance the work of the Assembly.
The next session is scheduled for May 15 at 10:00 AM, where deputies hope to make progress in resolving the impasse.
