Kosovo and the United States of America have signed a cooperation agreement on interoperability and secure communication, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral defense ties.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday between the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Bashkim Jashari, and U.S. General John Philips. It is described as a crucial development that will enable the secure exchange of information between the two countries.

Key Elements of the Agreement:

  • Exchange of secure and cryptographic information
  • Use of advanced U.S. defense communication technologies by the KSF
  • Cooperation in cybersecurity and protection against cyberattacks

During their meeting, Jashari and Philips discussed emerging threats, particularly from cyberattacks, and emphasized the need to deepen cooperation in information and communication security.

“The KSF’s relationships with its strategic allies are vital for its development and operational strength,” stated the FSK.
“In this context, the United States European Command (EUCOM) will continue to play a key role in building Kosovo’s defense capabilities.”
