The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, stated on Thursday in Istanbul that Russia is ready to discuss “possible compromises” and is in a “working atmosphere.”

He said that Russia views the talks in Istanbul as a continuation of the previous negotiations between the two countries in 2022.

“We consider these talks a continuation of the peace process in Istanbul, which unfortunately was interrupted by the Ukrainian side,” Medinsky declared.

In response to comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who criticized the composition of the Russian delegation as being of a “low level,” Medinsky clarified that the team he is leading consists of “senior officials from the relevant authorities.”
