Ahead of the highly anticipated football match between Serbia and Albania scheduled for June 7 in Tirana, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić publicly addressed the Serbian national team coach, Dragan Stojković, during a political rally in Niš on Saturday evening, reports Gazeta Sinjali.

In front of hundreds of citizens and notable figures, Vučić acknowledged Stojković’s presence and sent a motivating message for the upcoming match, part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

“Just a moment ago I saw him, and now I see him again here. Please give a big round of applause for the Serbian coach, Dragan Stojković – Piksi, the legend of Niš, who did not hide like many others but came here tonight with us. In June or July, you play there against Albania—defeat them,” Vučić declared, according to Serbian media outlet Sport Klub.

Earlier on Saturday, Vučić met with Stojković, who had traveled to Niš to support the president during his party rally.

The upcoming match between Serbia and Albania is expected to be decisive for both teams’ standings, as they compete for the second qualifying spot in their group.
