U.S. President Donald Trump has launched efforts to help secure a ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine, holding two key phone calls, Rks News reports.
According to CNN, Trump first spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and is expected to speak soon with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Trump is “tired and frustrated with both sides of the conflict” and aims to reach a ceasefire to end the war.
Vice President JD Vance added that Trump will ask Putin if he is “serious” about peace, stressing that the U.S. will not waste time on efforts that lead nowhere.
