KFOR Major General Meets President Osmani: Hope for Political Breakthrough and Emphasis on Regional Security

The Commander of NATO-led KFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani, met today with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in Pristina. The meeting was part of Barduani’s regular engagements with institutional representatives in Kosovo and the region, Rks News reports.

During the meeting, the current situation in the country was discussed, along with the importance of close cooperation between KFOR and Kosovo’s institutions. General Barduani expressed hope for a swift resolution to the ongoing political crisis, so that focus can return to the urgent regional security challenges.

He praised the existing cooperation with Kosovo’s security organizations and stressed the need for regular communication and coordination to ensure a safe and stable environment in the country.

KFOR remains committed to implementing its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, contributing to a secure environment for all citizens and communities in Kosovo, as well as ensuring freedom of movement at all times. The mission continues to work closely with the Kosovo Police and EULEX in their respective security roles.
