Following the latest threat made against the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, the Presidency’s media advisor, Bekim Kupina, strongly criticized the lack of institutional response, Rks News reports.
Kupina emphasized that this recent threat is just one in a long series of death threats targeting President Osmani, noting that all of them share one common element: the absence of action by justice institutions.
“This week’s threat is a continuation of ongoing death threats against President Osmani. What do they all have in common? The inaction of justice institutions. Despite dozens of threats—most of them being death threats—not a single action has been taken against the perpetrators over the years. This is despite the fact that in most cases, the threats were made with full names and from identifiable profiles. Some threats have even been made on live television programs, yet there has been no action to hold the perpetrators accountable,” Kupina stated to the media.
He further highlighted that even though the threats are made openly, with clear identity details—sometimes even publicly on TV—there has been no concrete effort to bring the offenders to justice.
“The case of repeated death threats against the President and her family is reportedly the only one in the institutional record, as informed by security agencies, where none of the perpetrators have faced justice,” he added.
