The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today in her office Guxo MP Albena Reshitaj, who expressed her support and solidarity following a recent threat directed at the President.
“Following the latest threat against the President of our country, today I met with her as a sign of solidarity and support to express my sincere backing. These acts should not shake us — on the contrary, they must strengthen our resolve in our mission for justice and equality,” wrote Reshitaj.
She emphasized that the Presidency symbolizes the unity and strength of the people, and any threat against it constitutes a threat to society and the dignity of the state itself.
“These attacks are unacceptable, especially when they are repeatedly directed toward a woman who leads with courage, representing not only the highest institution but also democratic values and gender equality,” she added.
Reshitaj called for immediate and decisive action from the justice institutions, so that such actions are never repeated.
“We must not allow fear to plant insecurity at the heart of our Republic. I stand firmly, as a representative of the people, in defense of democracy, women in leadership, and every voice that rises for a fairer, safer, and more equal Kosovo for all,” her statement concluded.
